Kinda ballsy to determine the best album ever, but kinda hard to deny.

The BolgBlog’s Top 20 Albums Ever*

#1: Thriller by Michael Jackson

Definitively the best album for any 80s kid, Thriller is a production, songwriting and groundbreaking music video masterpiece that transcends genre and preference and evokes a sense of purity and joy… isn’t that what music’s for? - Jt

*The BolgBlog’s Top 20 Albums Ever list is the internet’s definitive top 20 albums ever list. We’ll post a new album everyday for 20 days along with a single one-sentence review and then post the whole list with a playlist of standout tracks.

20 years after the release of his only studio release, Grace, and 17 years after his untimely death, Double J compiles an amazing look back the life and music of Jeff Buckley.

The BolgBlog’s Top 20 Albums Ever!

What the hell is this?

The BolgBlog’s Top 20 Albums Ever list is the internet’s definitive top 20 albums ever list. We’ll post a new album everyday for 20 days along with a single one-sentence review and update the playlist for you aural pleasure.

Why the hell are we doing this?

We, the team at The BolgBlog have been bringing you one sentence reviews of music we love hate and don’t give a shit about since the good ol days of 2013. We realized nobody has a reason to give a shit what we say, so we decided to do a Top 20 Albums list to give you an idea of our perspective.

How the hell did we make this list?

Each of The BolgBlog contributors created a list of their Top 50 albums ever. The objective: 4 hours, think instinctual & formative. Putting your name behind some of your formative favorite albums is stressful and potentially embarrassing but highly rewarding for all of us. (We suggest you give it a try and share your Top 50 List with us).

Once we had our lists we assigned a point value to the lists and Voltroned them into a consolidated Top 20, which was painful in a many ways, but does truly represent the collaborative voice of The BolgBlog.

This was my soundtrack this weekend

Sky Ferreira - Night Time, My Time

7.1 - I too give it up for Japanese Jesus and I’m hoping while Sky is on tour with Miley, she teaches her how to write progressive pure teen pop without being a slutty whore. - Jt

6.8 - A back-up vocalist is given center stage and she nails it — Ferreira’s Liz Phair-inspired garage pop is best at its most poppy and with maximum amount of electric guitar. -peck

8.2 - An unlikely pop journey here that highlights the versatility Sky sets herself apart from her competitors with. - BDP
